General Rules

FALL 2014

CLASSES begin Monday, Sept 15.

FITBEAR REGISTRATION IS CLOSED .

Classes begin Sept 15 and end Dec 5.

Classes meet in Studio 2.
 
Program is open to:
·        Barnard students, faculty, staff
·        Barnard alumnae with a Sports Facilities Pass
 
Individual Passes allow you to attend any class within your specific pass for the entire semester.
The ALL PASS includes all Fitbear classes for the entire semester.
Class availability is “first-come, first-served.”
Classes are multi-leveled.  Late policy - 5 minutes.
Athletic shoes required for all classes except Yoga.
 
Refund deadline is September 25.  Non-refundable service fee $10.  Contact fitness@barnard.edu
No classes:  Oct 31-Nov 4  and  Nov 26-30.

CARDIO MIX PASS $60 includes:
Mondays (KB) 8pm -9pm
Tuesdays (CS) 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Wednesdays (KB) 6:30pm -7:30pm
Saturdays (CS) 12:30pm - 1:30pm
KB= Kick Box; CS= Cardio Sculpt

 
ZUMBA PASS $60 includes:
Mondays 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Tuesdays 8pm - 9pm
Wednesdays 8pm - 9pm
Thursdays 7pm-8pm

 
YOGA PASS $60 includes:
Tuesdays 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Thursdays 5:30pm -6:30pm
Fridays 12:30pm -1:30pm
Saturdays 11:30am -12:30pm
Sundays 5:30pm - 6:30pm

 
CORE /  PILATES $60 includes:
Mondays (Core)  7:30pm - 8pm
Tuesdays (Core) 7:30pm - 8pm
Wednesdays (Core) 7:30pm - 8pm
Thursdays (Core) 6:30pm - 7pm
Fridays (Pilates) 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Sundays (Pilates) 6:30pm - 7:30pm

 
 
DESCRIPTIONS:
SCULPT:  Muscle toning for the whole body using weights, bands and bars.
CARDIO MIX: Combination of cardio and/or kick box with intervals of sculpt/abs.
CORE:  A quick fitness "attack" for the abs and back. 
PILATES:  Mat exercises for the "core":  abs, back and hips.
YOGA:  Traditional hatha / vinyasa poses with breathing and meditation
ZUMBA:  Dance fitness class set to Latin and international music.
 
Athletic shoes required for all classes except Yoga.

FITbear Learning

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR TRAINING.
Usually offered Spring semester.

ADULT CPR with AED
American Red Cross Lifesaving courses. Adult CPR includes breathing and heart emergencies. Contact fitness@barnard.edu for more info.
 
FIRST AID  
First Aid includes muscle, bone and soft tissue injuries. Contact fitness@barnard.edu for more info.

Personal Training

Let our trainers help you design your exercise program. Meets in the Weight Room in Barnard Hall.
Cost: 30 minutes session $35
Hours available: vary by day

Appointments must be scheduled in advance and in person in the Physical Education Office, 200 Barnard Annex. Full payment is required when the appointment is made. Cash or check only.

General Rules

  • You must be registered to participate.
  • You are not admitted more than 5 minutes late.
  • Athletic shoes required for all classes except Yoga.
  • Bring your ID to all classes.
